With a dark, menacing undercurrent of pounding bass and muted synth stabs and a beautifully understated, mournfully beautiful vocal from Lady Vale, ‘Never Give Up’ is slightly more moody in tone than previous releases on Lo:Rise. This is can hardly be a criticism however, as all the elements combine to create a powerful deep house track of the highest order. Plus if you like things even more twisted, there’s a Club Dub version that keeps things entirely focused on the low-end.
