Marc Evans debut artist album has been given massive props from some of the leading specialist magazines in the business. Blues & Soul - 10/10 This why I do this job 10 out of 10... What an awesome album... Marc Evans puts the Soul into Soulful House as he effortlessly grabs every track and stamps quality all over it. The Boys at Defected should give a money back guarantee with this one as every track is worth the price of the album alone. If ever there was a voice made for Soulful House then this has to be it. Marc Evans makes you sit up and listen and then some. The tracks that stood out for me - well that's easy - all of them! I love the opening track and album namesake 'The Way You Love Me,' as it sets the stall out for the rest of the album as other great albums do. The Spanish enthused 'Beneath The Crescent Moon is superb. 'Reach Out For Me' deserves a special mention as the subtle use of Jacko's 'Let me Show You' is just Divine (and must be released). 'Given me Joy' and current single 'I Don't Want You Anymore' just make you want to dance your feet off as do many others and I've only covered half the album so far!? And for fear of you thinking I've been bribed or something - All I can say is (I think you know what I'm going to say for the rest of the album) "Just buy it!" When you've bought it play the game we play in our office - see how many tracks are played before someone says "Who, is that?!!" A star in the making and on the strength of this album an absolute odds on bet for big things! And as I said at the top of this review a rare 10 out of 10 from me. Echoes: The combination of Evans' electrifying gospel holler and the sophisticated rhythmic circuitry of Spen and the Muthafunkaz puts this far above standard house fare. In fact, for the consistently high quality of the melodies and smart interplay of live playing and programmed beats, The Way You Love Me harks back to the halcyon days of Ten City.
