Ion Ludwig is already well known for creating beguiling and highly textured house and techno, but with his ‘Believe Born Again EP’ he has slowed down the tempo to a crawl and gone deeper than ever before. Kicking off with ‘Iony M’, Ludwig transports us to a darkly hushed world of his own making, drenched in reverb, scattered with ethereally whispered vocals and driven along by a powerful, dubby kick drum. Next up, ‘Slowion’ is one of the most original down tempo house tracks of the year and showcases Ludwig’s adeptness at creating hauntingly beautiful soundscapes without losing sight of the dancefloor. Finally, the title track is the most fleetingly delicate of the trio, awash with shimmering pads and wobbling low-end.
