After a string of sell out DJ dates and critically acclaimed releases, big things are expected for DJ Spen's latest offering. Sexy Dancer (Do That Sexy Dance) is, as Spen himself indicates, a break from what you might expect from the Soul man. The original is so tech-infused it's boderline techno; a driving track, with a tough kick, fizzing hi-hats and an industrial feel, reinforced by a repetitive and forceful vocal. The Tommy and Spen Mix moves into slightly more familiar territory, with a bouncin' bassline, juicy pads and energetic keys, while still mainaining the dynamic tempo of the original. With 8 mixes in the package,including an acappella and an old-skool influenced Body Moves mix from the duo, Spen has branched out and expertly hit home.
