VINYL FORMAT

Brooklyn producer Phenix made his debut as a teenager on proto-rave New York imprint Atmosphere and those early techno tendencies are still to be found on this EP of deep tracky underground grooves, particularly in the shifting textures of title track 'Voices' and 'Salsyn'. But New Yorkers are rarely far from the city's deep disco roots and sure enough the funk surfaces in 'Vinyl & Polyester' and 'Not Ready Fa This'.
