Osunlade has just published a book commemorating a number of his recent visits to America’s Burning Man Festival.
Burning Man is a week-long annual event held in the Black Rock Desert in northern Nevada, in the United States, which began life as a bonfire ritual on the summer solstice in 1986. Now attracting over 50,000 people from across the globe – as well as many of the top electronic DJs on the circuit – it had become an essential pilgrimage for many lovers of music, art and performance.
Entitled Black Rock City, Osunlade’s book features images he has captured during his recent visits as well as an introduction by Osunlade himself.
“This book commemorates the past five years of my journeys to Burning Man,” says Osunlade of the project “a self governed community of over 50, 000 people built to create a city based upon where capitalism is erased, a place where freedom is expressed and all participate in the sharing of ideas, art, music, love, spirit and evolution.”
