NUfrequency gents Daniele Contrini and Cristiano Massera are set to release a debut album early next month.
Connected straddles two discs, the first featuring original material dating back several years but, largely, unreleased or only previously available in remixed format. The second disc covers those key remixes, including Charles Webster’s dark, moody remix of Shara Nelson-fronted Go That Deep, Wolf + Lamb’s take on My Angel and Motor City Drum Ensemble’s upgrade to Fallen Hero (featuring Brit singer-songwriter Ben Onono).
NUfrequency are strongly associated with house, their sound swinging somewhere between funky and progressive. The outfit began life in 2004 with a third member, Alessandro Ripamonti, on board; Ripamonti left two years later but Contrini and Massera carried the name on.
Connected, their first major collection of material, is released via Contrini’s well established Italian label Rebirth on February 6.
