‘Master At Work’ Louie Vega will join Mr Worldwide Gilles Peterson and his Havana Cultura Band in south London this Friday for a special one-off gig.

Peterson’s band evolved out of a cultural programme launched by rum brand Havana Club two years ago whereby he would regularly visit Cuba to work with local artists. An album, Gilles Peterson Presents Havana Culture: New Cuba Sound, soon followed.

Peterson has now completed a follow-up, The Search Continues, material from which is likely to be heard at the Electric Brixton gig.

New York house legend Louie Vega promises a special, extended ‘Nu Yorican’ soul set; versatile DJ and producer Simbad (who has previously recorded for Defected, Compost and Brownswood) completes the line-up.
