Judge Jules is to return to his first job – as a lawyer.

It was announced yesterday that the veteran jock would leaving his show on Radio 1 in the latest staff reshuffle, which also saw the departure of Fabio & Grooverider, Kissy Sell Out and Gilles Peterson.

But instead of immersing himself in his DJing and production, he's going back to being a lawyer with entertainment law firm Sheridans.

Said Jules: “I've had an incredible time over the last 14 years at Radio 1. I'm going to continue DJing and I'm having a bit of a career change.”

Jules, real name Julius O'Riordan, originally studied law at the London School of Economics, which is where he got his nickname.
