Fabric’s legendary two-channel compilation series rolls on with the announcement of Fabriclive 61, helmed by Bristol bass maestro Pinch, and Fabric 62, supervised by wily, Chicago-based house veteran DJ Sneak.
Whilst details of Sneak’s contribution remain sketchy, Pinch’s Fabriclive effort promises weighty dubstep and bass-loaded 4-4, influenced by the worlds of garage, techno and drum & bass. Pinch, real name Rob Ellis, has included tracks by Shackleton, Joy Orbison, Emika, Addison Groove and, of course, himself.
Ellis is a stalwart of Bristol’s pioneering bass scene, DJing and producing regularly, as well as running the influential Tectonic label. Released on January 16, 2012, his Fabriclive mix will follow hot on the heels of a surprise collaborative album with Shackleton; a launch party is scheduled at Fabric on January 13.
