The ever-genial Deadmau5 has been slagging off his own label for selling his latest compilation in the guise of being an album.

4x4=12 is apparently just an album of tracks he's been recording on and off, and anyone selling it as an album 'needs to be shot'.

'It's another compilation,' he said. 'It's along the lines of Random Album Title and For Lack Of A Better Name. It's more of a culmination of shit I got done this year in between touring. People are saying, "What about an artist album?" What about three months off, buddy?

'I'm not knocking the album at all. It's a good compilation of the tracks I've been doing for the show. I'm not against any of it, I like some of it.'
