Game-maker Activision has officially confirmed the release of its eagerly awaited follow-up to DJ Hero.

Dropping in October, DJ Hero 2 serves up a wealth of interesting new game modes, as well as a raft of new tunes from club music’s great and good.

New gaming options include an ‘Empire’ career mode, head-to-head DJ ‘battle’ mode, ‘social multiplayer’ mode and a ‘Party Play’ mode utilising turntables and vocals. Users can also deviate from DJ Hero 2’s set mixes to freestyle their own sounds.

Over 70 mash-ups from 85 separate artists are featured; artists include Deadmau5, The Chemical Brothers and Tiesto, as well the likes of Rihanna, Kanye West and Lady Gaga.
