House-heads around the world will not forget the sublime soulful sound of the first Jaffa Music EP back in Summer 2008. Well, Part 2 is here and this is definitely one for the heads! Kicking off with Halo & Jamie Thinnes mixes of Rachel Claudio’s “Freedom” which has the words ‘deep’ and ‘house’ written all over it. Probably the coolest mix of the bunch, very classic sound with plenty modern elements in it. This is followed by DJ Fudge’s mix of the same track which oozes soul, and one that everyone will love! Also included in the EP is the Steal Vybe remix of the track “Just Because”, also by Rachel, with a bouncy bassline and progressive strings and percussion sounds, its about as deep as you like! One other track which is worth checking out is the Raw Artistic Soul remix of Rachel Claudio & Nicholas Vautiers “Do You Even Know Me” which contains deep and moody chords and pads which perfectly compliment the uber-cool vocal. England’s own “The Jinks” make their appearance with vocal and dub mixes of Soul Harmonic’s track with Rachel Claudio called These Times, with lots of string action included, and finally we have a ‘mental’ mix by Anto Vitale which literally is mental! Its a broken beat affair with lots of beeps and bleeps and while not the strongest of the tracks on the EP, the production on it itself is definitely worth a mention. All the true house-heads will be all over this. 8/10 (Colin Sales)
