Various - Shapeshifters In The House (Defected)

Headlines
The Shapeshifters cross the line between underground and commercial house music, and whilst some may argue about their genuine underground status, there is certainly no doubting their commercial appeal. Following the releases of Treadstone and Chime on Defected, it was perhaps inevitable that they would feature on the million-selling In The House series sooner rather than later. Also it's no surprise that they head straight for the jugular with 2 CDs of big tracks from the dancefloor. Highlights of the compilation come from ATFC in the shape of a new remix of Bad Habit and his edit of the Jungle Bros' I'll House You as well as tracks from Mike Monday, Funkagenda & Grant Nelson. CD3 features a number of tracks that the guys cite as influences and contains classics from Lil Louis and Adamski, although it does have the notable exception of Johnnie Taylor's What About My Love, which was of course the inspiration for Lola's Theme.
