The legend that is the Southport Weekender can justify itself more than most when it comes to releasing a classics album, after all it has been packing the punters in for almost 20 years. Dancefloor bombs on this LP come courtesy of Melba Moore, Loose Ends, Phyllis Hyman, Incognito, MAW, Luther Vandross and many many more, with tracks spanned across the full range of styles that the event has become synonymous with. This isn’t just a cheap collection of mid 90’s house regurgitated to make a quick buck, this is the real deal and an album that if you don’t have in your collection should make you feel very ashamed.
