The Jinks have been courting attention for the past year or so on London’s MN2S but are now starting to branch out and deliver the goods for a few other labels too. Here they pop up on Soulfunk and prove without a doubt that they are getting better with each track. The original is based around an afro beat, some fierce synth stabs and a quirky vocal which in truth actually makes the track what it is. The remixes come from, amongst others, Danny Clark, who just gives it a subtle rework. Meanwhile, Will Reelsoul blends a shuffling beat and spacey pads with the vocal to great effect. (CZ)
