If you like your house to be jackin', then you can’t overlook this latest release on Open Bar. Based in the Netherlands, Smash, as he’s more commonly known, has provided two slices of pure, unadulterated jackin' house. My Jazz is a dirty house track based on live jazz samples. But Phatt is the one that will really get you going, with stacks of vocal samples and a gentle rhodes sound layered in background. Just wait till you hear the bassline on this bad boy. A fine EP, doubtless rocking the boxes of Derrick Carter and the like. (Colin Sales)
