Headlines
Daddyfunk45 are on a roll at the moment, quality release after quality release, as this is no exception. Grooverider is first up with some very sexy Latin pianos and very harmonic synths, with a nice breakdown before it builds up into a Latino frenzy that you can imagine working so well on South Beach. Next on this South African artist EP is Hotfoot, a very Jazz N Groove influenced track with some very nice piano keys and an energy that has been missing from some House tracks recently, very slim use of vocoded vocals on this mix which sit nicely.
Next up on this refreshing EP is Inner City Groove, very Old Skool with a very recognizable piano loop. On top of the magnificent piano is a simple but effective vocal saying ‘going back to the old school’. It’s slightly more Tech edged than the other tracks but just as effective. Finally is Moozik, a cool little energetic number that gives us a spoken vocal in South African accent, before it goes into the uplifting sound again. Slammin EP that features some of the best up and coming South African DJs and producers. Well worth checking. (Antony Angell)
