Justin Michael’s Hermosa Recordings are bringing some Miami heat to the table in the form of this superb EP from Swedish producers Pingo & Bobby. The main track, titled 'The Soul Of House Music', is a sax-driven affair, with warm drums, keys and a damn fine bassline, with both male and female vocals to keep everyone entertained. There are four mixes of this track on offer, with the pick of the bunch being the Peaktime mix, with its massive breakdowns. Also included is 'Let It All Go', an afro-based track with more hot breakdowns, in the Grant Nelson style. Finally there is 'La-Teen-Oh', another afro-houser with plenty of percussion sections, guitar plucks, tribal chants and a catchy piano line. Check out the massive breakdown in the middle – definitely one for fans of the Africanism sounds. (CS)
