Christian Alvarez’s Delecto label has had a fabulous year so far – but the best is yet to come, and here is a taste in the form of Next To Me. The Original is a full-on house bomb, perfect for the peaktime with its big breaks and guitar sounds. The vocal from Twyla really stands out and works to great effect when the beat really kicks in. There are plenty of remixes to watch for – Christian Alvarez himself has worked his own magic on the release, and this proves to be the strongest of the bunch, loaded with funky elements. Look out also for the remix by Central Avenue – arguably the hottest property in soulful house music right now. This remix has all the keys, bass, brass, and guitar plucks you could wish for. Ruben Alvarez has also supplied a remix for this release, and goes for a sharper, almost Adamski-esque remix. Once again Delecto are a winner – highly recommended. (Colin Sales)
