Hed Kandi Summer Mix 2009

It’s that time already and all the summer mix albums are hitting our shelves just as we’re getting back from Ibiza. This triple cd set takes you on a journey through everything that is Hed Kandi and what is currently destroying the dancefloor at Space. The first cd starts off with the massive Raindrops by Basement Jaxx then is followed by some of the finest uplifting tracks around including Sound Of Soho, Moony, Guy Robins version of Soulsearcher and the track that will no doubt be the track everyone is talking about thats Musical Freedom by K Klass and Candi Staton. Two classics are also featured as well that are The Bomb and The Funk Phenomena.

CD 2starts off with Armand Van Helden on remix duties of Jack Penate’s Be The One then Fedde Le Grand takes over, alot of standout tracks but a few of them are the new rework of the Lee Cabrera classic Shake It, When Doves Cry by Yass sets the benchmark. The Subliminal secret weapon at the moment by Erick Morillo himself entitled I Get Lifted in its Dub form. David Morales’s classic Needin U rework also features along with Somebody Else’s Guy.  The final disc starts with Bob Marley and features some of the most chillout Balearic style tracks around and the album is topped off by The Priors. Yet another quality album from the Kandi crew and plenty of Ibiza memories enclosed. (Antony Angell)
