The Future Sound Of Disco has landed in true Hed Kandi style with the music that rocked the back room at Space in Ibiza this year. This album takes in tracks and remixes from the likes of Crazy P, Aeroplane, Greg Wilson, Fred Falke, Lindstrom and Phonat.
Disc one starts off with a re-edit from Greg Wilson himself on Simian Mobile Disco and Cruel Intentions with Beth Ditto on vocal duty, this track is an ideal way to start of a new decade. Next is the Jupiter take on Mama Used To Say originally by Junior. Empire Of The Sun also are present on this disc with Walking On A Dream and the excellent Treasure Fingers remix. The Editors get the remix treatment from Tom Neville on the massive Indie anthem Papillon. Also featured on this disc include a Lifelike mix of The Private and My Secret Lover which is a little bit more uptempo but still has the Nu Disco vibe. Passion Pitt round off the album with Secrets and Felix Da Housecat providing the magic on this mix.
Disc two keeps the magic going with two of the biggest hitters on the Nu Disco scene that areLindstrom & Christable and also Aeroplane on a monster track called Baby Cant Stop. The Priors are also featured with the excellent What You Need track with Hey Champ on the remix, this has to be one of the standout tracks on the album and also on the scene at the moment. John Jones from Hed Kandi fame is also featured on this album with his very infectious Be Together which will be dropping as a single very shortly, this time its Christian Hoff on the remix and what a job he has done. Fred Falke gets to work on Grizzly Bear and also Shena as well on this disc.
Really good way to start of a new year and a new decade with this Nu Disco album, the future is looking good for the futuristic sound of Kandi. (Antony Angell)
