In a past life, house loon James Curd made borderline certifiable boompty boomp house music for Derrick Carter's Classic label, loaded with insane, finely diced samples and ridiculous instrumental wig-outs. Now he's got more of a band vibe together. And this time they've got guitars. The results have taken two years to surface, but have been well worth the wait. Weirdness is still an influence it seems, but only as much as electro, a fondness for devastating basslines and a liking for Talking Heads. For those who loved their old style, a second slamming disc featuring some of their finest remixes is thrown into this bargain, all mixed up by Mr Curd himself - check New York Lady and their version of Mouth by Iz & Diz, they're both completely blinding.
