Alec Sun Drae has defiantly made this track her own, it’s along the lines of the classic Ghetto Heaven but with a whole new twist. You have four mixes to choose from all from the Frooty Collective, Tech, Groove, Main Room, Disco Funky and NRG. Disco Funky mix is full of that disco main room action that crowd will instantly go for, very accessible house music indeed. Beautiful keys light up this track, it’s one of those loops that’s so simply yet so effective.
Very catchy vocals are present on all the mixes, trust me once you have heard this once it will be stuck in your head for a long while. The Groove mix would ideal for those more vocal moments in the club, during this mix Alec manages to hold the note for about 20 seconds and then goes off into a diva like performance, boy can this girl sing. The main room mix does exactly what it says on the tin, a 30 second intro which would be a bit hard to get mixing straight away for DJs but the track redeems itself with its almost electro sounding bass but it keeps it funkiness all the way and yet again the vocal performance is faultless. Nice slick pianos and effects work extremely well on this release.
NRG is next up, yet again beautiful vocal but this time with a slightly more up tempo backing track, almost dubby infact, this could quiet easily hold its own in a main room at peak time. The Tech mix still keeps it original flavour but with a little bit of a tougher edge.
All in all a very discotastic sounding track that could quiet easily mix with the big boys up and down the country’s dancefloors. (Antony Angell)
