One of the great things about music is that it has the power to take you to different times and places. Mighty Wind by San Francisco’s David Harness does this brilliantly by dropping you back in the era of disco. We all know disco has continually been one of the great sources of inspiration for house music, but Harness still manages to reminds us why that scene was so great, by beautifully capturing all of disco’s greatest elements. Following in the tradition of instrumental-led disco tracks, Mighty Wind quietly builds itself up before carrying you on a wave of sweeping orchestral strings before finishing off with some dreamy female vocal sounds. There’s no release date for this track as yet, but prepare to glide yourself across many a dancefloor this summer when it's unleashed. (RD)
