Ben Westbeech, the man behind last years soulful smash “So Good Today”, returns to form with his latest effort “Hang Around”. As you would expect from a label that his headed up by Giles Pieterson, this release has soul and groove by the bucket-load. This is no small part to the great remix from Aaron Ross who applies the smooth US house stylings we are used to hear him making as one half of the Fanatix. Combining the key ingredients of twinkling Rhodes smooth base and tight percussion then letting them simmer around Ben’s excellent vocal delivery this record is sure to be a favourite with soulful and deep house heads when it gets its full release in Feb/ March 2007. Expect more of the same when Ben’s album, “Welcome To The Best Years Of Your Life” drops in March… (ST)
