On the 31st December 2011, Defected Records will be hitting London for our first ever New Year’s Eve party in the capital. Boasting a line-up that presents house music in all its myriad forms all under one roof, if house is your staple diet, then this is the only place to see in 2012.

This week we profile the artists completing the line-up in the Digital Disco room, where you can expect deep house, disco and edits galore from three artists who know a thing or two about creating the perfect party atmosphere…

Greg Wilson

Greg Wilson is one of the industry’s most respected and longest-serving DJs. A pioneer of both the early 80’s electro scene in Manchester and the current disco/re-edit scene, he has (quite rightly) acquired a global following. Wilson is arguably the world’s finest party turntablist, and a New Year’s Eve set from him will be an aural spectacle like no other.

Ashley Beedle

As one-third of Xpress 2, Ashely Beedle is one of the most successful dance artists of his generation, and was instrumental in introducing house music to London, revolutionizing both the musical and clubbing landscape of the capital. An exceptional DJ, Beedle is known for his eclectic sets, encompassing everything from house to reggae and all points in between.

“It's an honour to be asked to play at this event, really looking forward to turning it out! It’ll be business as usual for me, rather than tweaking my set…you have got to make sure each gig is a party!”

Simon Morell

With the sucess of both his FINA label and own career in the recent years, Morell has established himself as both a sharp A&R man and a master craftsman behind the decks. In terms of DJing, Simon's forte is - according to his bio at least - "the ability judge the pitch of a night then bend it to his own will, taking it to profoundly unexpected places". Both where these places are and the scale of surprise upon arrival will be revealed on the night.

“I'm really excited about this gig. To be playing alongside Greg Wilson and Ashley Beedle is going to be pretty special, and I’m really looking forward to checking MK and AtJazz out too!  There will be a few classics thrown in here and there for sure… so expect the unexpected!
