Back in 1993 Strictly Rhythm released a record called ‘South Street Player – (Who?) Keeps Changing Your Mind‘. It was a song produced and performed by Roland Clarke, who also performed on Armand van Helden’s seminal hit 'Flowers‘.
Soon it became quite a big club hit here in The Netherlands. Dutch duo Chocolate Puma loved the record and decided to license it for their Fresh Fruit Label with 2 remixes: Fresh Fruit Deep and Fresh Fruit Dub.
"Both didn’t have much vocal in it, not because we didn’t like them, but because back then we just didn’t have the equipment to include the full vocals!" say the guys of the mixes. "In those early days our ’studio’ was very basic".
Now, 17 years later, they have made a vocal edit of our Fresh Fruit Dub, so you can finally hear it how it was ment to be.
The track will be available on Strictly Rhythm from the 27th of January.
