The Wizard Brian Coxx has just dropped 'Killing Me' on Strictly Rhythm. Featuring the vocal talents of Sandy Spady and immediately snapped up by Copyright to feature on their Ibiza '09 compilation, we caught up with the man behind the track to find out more about his magic touch

When and why did you start did you making records?

I started making records about a year ago. Guess you could say "He's brand new". Been so busy the last 4 years starting and maintaining my weekly party Soulgasm. Having a weekly residency every week in NYC is a full time job right there. Finally met up with my partner Alias Rhythm and it's on. I mean it's so on. Look out world. We're on a mission. Gonna be snatchin up souls from here on in.

What was the inspiration behind ‘Killing Me’?

The inspiration behind 'Killing Me' was to make a crossover sound. A sound that can appeal to many. I wanted a track that was for people who enjoy all genres of House music. A  soulful vocal over a deep techy type house track. A track that will bang in the club but also be nice to listen to in your car or at home or wherever.

What is your aim as an artist when you sit down to make a track?

To take life experience and influences and paint a musical picture.. We are allinfluenced by what's going on around us every day. Friends, family, science, religion, relationships, and so much more. The possibilities are endless. Taking all these wonderful and sometimes heartbreaking moments and transforming them into song is something authentic and impossible to fake. People know. That's what makes for great music.

Why did you call yourself ‘The Wizard’?

They call me The Wizard because I've been known to have a power or effect that appears magical by it's ability to transform. DJ Wizardry - the Grand Wizard of House.

What can we expect from you over the coming months?

Be on the lookout for Soulgasm sessions vol. 2 on Strictly Rhythm as well as some tracks on Sole Channel. One thing for sure to expect. Music that will work your mind as well as your body. Soul music coming to you in a diffrent form. A reincarnation if you will.Music for you.
