Inner City are one of the acts nominated in Mixmag’s Greatest Dance Acts of All Time readers poll.

December 7^th sees the release of ‘Future’, Inner City’s first entirely original material for a decade. It’s a welcome return for a group that combined the tough, futuristic grooves of the Detroit scene with the vocal energy of R&B and gospel and helped to define the period in which house and techno moved from underground phenomena to Top 10 material, paving the way for hundreds of dance hits to come.

Formed of Kevin Saunderson, Paris Grey and Ann Saunderson, Inner City had five UK top 20 singles (four of which also topped the US dance charts) from their 1989 debut Paradise. Tracks such as Good Life, Big Fun and Pennies from Heaven are among the most celebrated dance records ever made, and have made an indelible mark on the landscape of modern club culture.

They are one of the acts – and in our opinion one of the very front runners – nominated in Mixmag’s Greatest Dance Act of All Time poll.
