Hold on to your eardrums; we’re about to hit you with the biggest weekend of house music in Defected’s history.

We can now very proudly announce a unique weekend of live house music with two incredible Defected In The House Live dates taking place in July. This unique House Music celebration features live performances of classics from legendary artists including Candi Staton, Julie McKnight, Barbara Tucker, Steve Edwards and many more all backed by the Defected In The House Live Band. Plus, there will also be DJ sets from the Shapeshifters, Copyright and Simon Dunmore – with the drum warrior Shovell on Percussion – in two legendary London venues.

The first night of the two-part special will take place at Camden’s Roundhouse venue on Friday 23rd July as part of the iTunes festival. We are the only dance label in the world to curate our own night in the month-long festival, and we are honoured to be taking part alongside acts like Faithless, Goldfrapp and the XX.
Then on Saturday 24th the party moves on to the spiritual home of Defected In The House; Ministry of Sound. Those of you lucky enough to have attended our 10th birthday celebrations there last year will know what an incredible event it was, and these back-to-back nights will take the concept of live house music to a whole new level.

"Dance Music as part of popular culture had it's up and downs, but the simple fact remains that we're still here and we’re still packing out venues every weekend," say the Shapeshifters’ Simon Marlin "so it doesn't surprise me that this year’s iTunes festival has a day dedicated to the love of House!”
"The Defected In The House Live event is really going to stand out" says legendary singer Candi Staton of the events. "I’ve always loved my dance songs the most, from 'You Got The Love' to 'Young Hearts Run Free' and now, my 'Wilder Side' collaboration with Rasmus Faber and Alf Tumble. The idea is innovative, dynamic and simply incredible.”
Tickets for both events will be massively oversubscribed so make sure you get yours quickly to avoid missing the year’s only unmissable dance music event.
