Dance With Us

This month sees 2 extra special Defected In The House events.

Firstly, on the 10th October Dennis Ferrer returns to London’s Ministry of Sound for the first time in more than 3 years. Then on the 23rd, we host an event at the Amsterdam Dance Event, boasts a line-up that defies belief and includes a live band belting out Defected and Strictly Rhythm favourites.

Dennis Ferrer is one of those very rare DJ's that competently straddles the treacherous ground between Soul to Techno. A guy influenced as much by Gospel and Afro Beats as he is with Deep House. An absolute DJ's DJ, this Bronx born uber producer has built up a reputation as being a leader in the contemporary house sound, and believe me many producers are following faithfully.

"It doesn't matter if it's gospel house, Brazilian house, jazz house, or whatever. As long as it's got soul and moves people, that's all that matters." Dennis Ferrer

You’ll hear a lot of his own productions in his set and rightly so. This is the guy that brought us 'Sandcastles' a seminal track (in conjunction with Jerome Sydenham) that many believe was a turning point for House. He has gone onto produce some of the most respected dance records in the last few years from his artist album 'The World as I See It' to his recent release ‘Sinfonia Della Notte’ on the legendary Strictly Rhythm Label. His DJ style is pacey and technical, he really is a must see DJ and has been awarded big up’s by (almost) every DJ in (almost) every genre including Kenny Dope, Luciano and Loco Dice, who are all big supporters.

ADE is Europe’s most important destination for the dance music. This year it is an event designed not just for industry big wigs but also for fanatical clubbers. Hailed as ‘the Miami of Europe’, ADE is the place to make a big noise and get noticed and this year it's all about Defected Records and Strictly Rhythm

This is two of the scenes original family’s getting together. House music’s biggest and best loved vocalists will be specially flown over to perform. Barbara Tucker will be singing ‘Beautiful People’ and ‘Most Precious Love’, the mighty Steve Edwards ‘World, Hold On’ and Marc Evans ‘The Way You Love me’. Ben Westbeech will also sing Live and DJ too. All the artists will all be backed by the Defected/Strictly all stars and a special 5 piece band led by Robin Faze Action.

Coupled with appearances from both The UK’s and Holland’s strongest DJ talent including appearances from The Shapeshifters, ATFC, Hardsoul, Chocolate Puma and Michel Cleis, this is sure to be a memorable event at this year’s ADE.
