Hola!
After two days of pure partying it was definitely time to chill and check out one of the zillion beaches Ibiza has to offer. So after our weekly yoga session (much needed this week!) we went and got one of our favourite €2 baguettes from Casa Alfonso in San An, and after stocking up on water and piling back into the car we convoyed to ‘Aguas Blancas’. Just the name was enough to tell me this would be nice, along with the fact that it is in the North of the Island (most of the best beaches are don’t you know dahhhling!)
We pull up on a dirt road and have to take a bit of a walk (to avoid paying for parking) and then down a very steep slope before arriving barefoot on the deepest softest sand and most beautiful scenery. The sea is amazing there…I hate seaweed and rocks and I always think something is lurking under them that will bite my foot off but there is nothing of the sort there. It’s the kind of sea that you don’t imagine has salt in and just want to drink as well as swim in.
After all having a good swim about we lather on our dangerously low factor oil and sit around listening to the reggae playing from the restaurant behind us and occasionally take a long enjoyable breathe in when someone’s joint waft past us ;) My friend reminds me that this is where you can cover yourself in mud and points out 2 girls standing by the cliff face pouring water down it and then smearing the mud created all over them. Naturally, we do it too…but just on our faces and then walk back to the car, with the mud on our faces and then drive home praying I don’t have to stop for petrol!
Before I talk about our party this week I would like to stress the ordeal our poor poster boy Pato has to go through to promote it. The first time I met him he had plasters and bruises all over his face but I daren’t ask him why then suddenly they healed and this lovely tanned Spanish face greeted me and now he is covered in plasters again. I asked him what was going on and he just said “Poster Mafia”. This must be explained! He told me got into another fight with people trying to put their posters in our spots and this is what had happened when I saw him before. I would recommend not becoming a posterer if you are thinking of working out here.
Thankfully the pain he went through was all worthwhile…it was a great party this week! We welcomed Strictly Rhythm into the House and brought you Chocolate Puma and Bob Sinclar. I had asked Bob to bring me a t-shirt from his clothing range (www.bobsinclarclothing.com) to wear this time round and he brought it with him via private jet! As Bob Sinclar was whisked through with his entourage his agent informs me that he does indeed have the t-shirt for me and Bob hands it to me. I get the pair of scissors on it to take off the sleeves and go and change my outfit (not easy in the night-time 30 degree heat!).
Rushing back through the bar I go and seek Bob’s approval on the t-shirt but he seems to not like it tucked into my high-waisted ‘disco pants’ (nor do most men FYI girls) and insists that I untuck it and then tie it in a knot at the side…perfect! Bob’s agent told me I needed something more sparkly to go with it, so out I ran and found the exact pink sequin bikini top I needed- handed her €15, changed into it, ditched the bra and ran back into Mambo. Bob Sinclar approved and then his agent took a look at it, grabbed my hand and told me we were going to get her the exact one too! I then comfortably danced in delight infront of the hundreds of Bob fans pressed up against the glass wall in front of the DJ booth at Mambo. Chocolate Puma took to the decks after and it was our best pre-party yet and a perfect warm-up for the night to come.
Pacha was just fantastic. Bob arrived wearing the same t-shirt as he had just given me, which I thought was brilliant, and he opened his set with another absolutely genius medley which really only he could pull off. The crowd really were going wild at the superstar DJ they saw in front of them and the place went off for pretty much the whole set! He had changed edited his tracks especially for the show and allowed the focus to go from him to the dancers while they danced through the gigantic ‘monsters ball’ whilst dressed in diamante and red stockings, putting on another beautiful display. After Bob came Chocolate Puma who kept their mentalist crowd going until the early hours with tracks like ‘Disco Electrique’ and ‘Back Home’; our best party yet I would say. The Island is certainly kicking and up for having the very best of times!
Now time for me to go and add to my very best of times in Space. Asta luego!
