10 Years In the House
In February of 1999, Soulsearcher’s ‘I Can’t Get Enough’ reached No.8 in the UK charts and marked the very first release on Defected Records. A decade on and 2009 marks our tenth birthday, which we will be celebrating with a 2 volume album – one to drop in February and the second later in the year – as well as 10 special parties around the world. The fun kicks off on 24th January with the 10th Birthday Party at Ministry of Sound, London, where we will be joined by seminal artists from the label’s history, including Bob Sinclar, Junior Jack & Kid Creme, the Shapeshifters, ATFC, Copyright and Shovell all up to their usual antics. There will also be special live perfomances from vocalists performing some of the most recogniseable songs from our history, including Julie McKnight, Marc Evans and Imaani. Keep your eyes peeled for soon to be released tickets as places for the live performances and seriously limited. The full tracklist for the compilations have not yet been confirmed, but we can reveal that there have been some especially comissioned remixes of classic records by the likes of David Penn, Yass, Funkagenda and ATFC as well as a comprehensive selection of original tracks across 5 CDs. Finally, we'd like to give a massive shout out to all the fans who've kept us going over the last decade. Without your support we wouldn't be here. Keep your ear to the ground for forthcoming details...
