RnD Musik consists of the DJ/Producer duo Roul and Doors. After obtaining a master degree in the respective fields of Biomedical Science and International Business, it seemed a logical choice to go for a career in their respective fields of study. However, they both couldn´t resist the temptation to pursue their dream of a successful career in the music industry. Roul and Doors found out about their mutual interest when they met at their study association in Maastricht.
It is also at this study association where they both started their DJ career and have been playing since 2003. RnD Musik comprises more than just two DJs. It´s just as much about two producers keen on enriching the music industry with their particular touch of combining different musical genres and productions.
Their skills have firstly been recognized Dutch house duo Hardsoul, who released Roul and Doors´ first single – Revelation – on the Hardsoul Pressings Dutch Talent EP in June 2009. Besides this, Revelation appeared on the compilation CD of Defected In The House (Amsterdam 09), a sign for the future. The release has been followed by a number of remixes in 2009 and 2010 for respected names such as: Daniel Bovie & Roy Rox, DJ Jeroenski, Michael Mendoza and Kid Massive.
Releases in 2011 have been the remix for Copyright's Kama Yeah (Defected) and their own Forget/Gita EP as well as their edits of Sidney Samson's Panorama, both on Azuli. Gita has been in the Dance-Tunes top 10 for several weeks and also achieved #3 in the Dutch Slam FM Dance Top-30, while Forget got support from one of the most respected DJs in the world, Tiesto. Their tracks and edits are widely supported in the scene by big names such as Tiesto, Steve Angello, Felix da Housecat, Bob Sinclar, Hardwell, ATFC, Copyright, Simon Dunmore, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, Ricky Rivaro, Roog, Franky Rizardo, Michael Mendoza and East & Young.
These releases were followed by their Trinidad/Assiduity EP on Defected Records (which got into the Beatport House top 30 and up to the Dance-Tunes Top 2), their remix of Bob Sinclar's Summer Hit Far L'Amore for Defected and a remix of former Beatport #1 Nadia Ali, Starkiller & Alex Kenji – Pressure for Simply Delicious Music (Strictly Rhythm). Last but definitely not least, RnD had the honour of mixing their first official compilation CD, the Azuli Amsterdam 11 Compilation alongside Franky Rizardo. Having had the possibility to sign to Azuli & Defected in the beginning of 2011 definitely paved the way for the most exciting year in their career. Trinidad and their remix of Copyright’s Kama Yeah have even been nominated #7 and #8 respectively in the 2011 Defected’s Most Rated Chart!
With a lot of exciting projects coming up in 2012, such as their Guinea/Cameroon EP on Copyright recordings in April, an EP coming up on Defected Records and their forthcoming EP with Franky Rizardo already supported by names such as Hardwell, Nicky Romero and Sidney Samson, signs are present that 2012 will become even better!DJ wise the boys have been pick-up by Colluded Talent Agency and will appear on events such as Pacha Festival, Mysterious, Zomerkriebels, Super Sundays and many more, so be on the lookout…
